Nothing else in sport compares the spectacle of a mountain stage in the Tour de France—*especially* on Alpe d’Huez. And no other section of a mountain stage in Le Tour compares to the “Dutch Corner”. The beauty, majesty and madness of bike racing summed up in this moment as Tejay Van Garderen attempts to take the Double Alpe stage today. Even though his bid was painfully unsuccessful (passed in the final 2k) it was an amazing experience to cheer/yell at the TV for one of the (dope-free) American young guns.
